Lack of Purpose Makes Us Nervous

Animals can be amusing

while we humans are confusing.

But, our made-up gods may be

an everlasting mystery.

We humans cannot figure out

what our living is all about.

Do our lives have a real purpose?

Such questions can make us nervous.

We wonder what we ought to do

and what, if anything, is true?

Since our bodies are gonna die,

is there any reason to try?

All of us may be conscious of

our eternal spirits, like love.
