The Devil’s Workshop
When his mind slipped out of gear
night-marish dreams would appear.
His work was the only thing
to which sanity could cling.
That’s the way some people are
who’ve ridden day dreams too far.
Work can give them a purpose;
idleness makes them nervous.
If there is a demi-urge,
it lets work and purpose merge,
which can allow anyone
to forget their work is fun.
Like a cow knee-deep in mud
happily chewing her cud.
