Such Senseless Prattle

Some say this poetry is new,

so what can a sane person do?

This blabber which doesn’t make sense

doesn’t keep readers in suspense.

Nonsense isn’t non sequitur

unless it makes a kitten purr.

So the cow flies up to the moon

on the back of a dead raccoon.

“We shouldn’t wonder about that”

said the cat with the funny hat.

“What we should worry about

are all the things which are left out.

These poems, on the other hand,

i’m beginning to understand.
