Spirits Are Intangible
Communing with the living dead
perhaps shows us what lies ahead,
and yet, after all, maybe not;
spirits did know but they forgot.
An unwritten natural law
makes spiritual action a flaw.
They’re not allowed to intervene
by revealing what they have seen.
But they are allowed to confide
the things they said before they died.
We can talk with the spirits now,
which natural laws will allow.
They can’t act to change anything;
even what they’re remembering.
