Fairies, Gnomes, and Imagined Friends
There is a sort of coziness
instead of feeling loneliness.
When you write, you’re often alone.
There’s freedom when you’re on your own.
I have often heard poets say,
“I’m so alone every day.”
But i sometimes feel fortunate,
not having to collaborate.
I feel free to speak honestly
with no one else restraining me.
Am i alone? That all depends
on my imaginary friends.
I can be cozy by myself
but i do have an inner elf.
