This Is Serious Money

His face appears to be frozen

despite everything that goes on.

Lincoln is not the only one

who appears as having no fun.

Faces on money never smile.

It gets boring after a while.

Why couldn't one of them grin

considering the fix we're in?

But, if money is serious,

that may not be mysterious.

The people who are nonchalant

have all the money they want.

I wonder what they are staring at

when they are as solemn as that.
