Not in the Nonce

When someone says in the nonce

perhaps they mean all at once

but perhaps they may mean now

or in this moment anyhow.

Why would anyone use it?

I'm unlikely to choose it

unless i need to find a rhyme

for wants or fonts sometime.

Does anyone smell a rat

when poets use a word like that?

Nobody seems to find fault

with having such words in a vault.

In my vocabulary

it isn't necessary.

Scruffy may be another word

which is not very often heard.

What it means is inferior,

something less than superior.

Usually following not too

which means it will have to do.

What does scrabble really mean?

A scorpion in a latrine?

Jesus said love life

revel in wonder and awe

eliminate strife
