Do Birds Dream?

Ubiquity of sparrows seems

unnoticeable in my dreams.

In my dreams, what really stands out

is that there are no birds about.

While in my quotidian life

i no longer live with my wife,

but in my dreams she’s always there

and i don’t see birds anywhere.

You should know from what i have said

that my lover has long been dead

but we always dream together

and so we will live forever.

Do birds dream? I don’t know or care.

Living birds are everywhere.
