The Way It Is

If time is a continuum

that means the end will never come,

and likewise it never began

but this may not apply to man.

Species may be temporary.

permanence unnecessary,

but, eternity will go on

even after mankind is gone.

So what is it that’s permanent?

Not past or future but present.

The only thing real is right now

and that keeps on changing somehow.

I believe that eternity

is the only reality.
