The Sardonic Rhymester
Is it casual, nonchalant, or heart breaking;
or a perilous undertaking?
This attempt to express his views
like a forage into the blues,
stumbles in its rhyme and meter,
paying attention to neither.
But, the syntax is incorrect
and his intentions are suspect.
He knows he isn’t a poet
but no one else seems to know it.
So he gets away with his scam.
Nobody seems to give a damn.
It doesn’t matter if it’s true
as long as it amuses you.
