Mutual Trust
A vulnerable, frightened heart
always tries to keep us apart.
I shouldn’t be afraid of you
or think you’re afraid of me too.
We are in this wold together
and eternity forever.
We should make mutuality
our permanent philosophy.
That sounds good, but we are aware
there are hucksters everywhere.
Perhaps it only takes a few
to make me feel afraid of you.
You can always, surely, trust me;
but can i be as sure of thee?
