Stone Coffins and Monuments
I’ve never had a sarcophagus
and i suspect that i never will.
Stone coffins appear ridiculous
and the thought of them gives me a chill.
My aunt once had a mausoleum
where my uncle’s body had been stored.
It is auspicious just to see’em
and they’re something i cannot afford.
The body, which time always forgets,
is rotting away after it’s dead.
A dirt grave covered with violets
would be just as good for me instead.
This is the only body i’ve got.
It has to die but my soul will not.
