The Value of Innocence
If my poems sometimes seem wild,
you must remember, i’m a child;
still caught by the awe and wonder
of a spell i’m living under.
I don’t know who has cast this spell
and if i did, i might not tell.
I prefer my pure innocence
despite all other evidence.
Inside i have an impish elf
who keeps me laughing at myself,
and laughing at the rest of you
which serious people can’t do.
4 whatever it may be worth,
i find some value in my mirth.
