Unspeakable Intimacy
When poems are spoken aloud
i am afraid of a large crowd.
This reduces intimacy
between a lone reader and me.
After all has been said and done
am i in touch with anyone?
I’m not an actor on a stage.
I would prefer a printed page.
Poems we can hold in our hand
are easier to understand.
I wonder how we can arrange
an e-mail poetry exchange?
