Senile Innocence
Do i remember who i was
instead of who i want to be?
That is what an older man does;
it can't be happening to me.
I can't remember yesterday
because i have become too old.
I forget what i want to say
or anything i have been told.
I know that you tend to doubt it
since what i say seems to make sense,
but i do not talk about it
because of senile innocence.
I can't remember–i forgot;
should i let you know this–or not?
