A Safe Deposit
I am a debt owed to myself,
which can never be collected.
My body cannot recognize
my eternal obligation.
On the other side there may be
an accounting that’s kept for me.
But all rewards and punishments
will most likely make little sense.
Did i love my fellow creatures?
is probably what it features.
Love provides its own interest
and such dividends are the best,
suggesting i may be debt-free
for the rest of eternity.
