Music to Our Ears
When the forces who control time
decide it is now time to quit.
will they announce it with a chime,
unlike the bang which started it?
Are gods more sophisticated,
more relaxed than they used to be?
Surely not more educated,
know more about eternity.
But, mankind may now understand
natural laws are in command.
The world didn’t start with a pop
and it’s never going to stop.
If change means regeneration,
chimes signal anticipation.
