To Plagiarize the Wise
Some selected proverbs are true
and they seem surprisingly new,
as if you made them up yourself
like a wise but unlikely elf.
But, most of us can realize
only the physical body dies.
Some prophesies are all about
waiting for us to dig them out.
Prophet’s bodies are temporal
but ideas are memorable,
and all of them belong to us;
implications are enormous.
Like treasures in an unlocked vault
if we don’t take them it’s our fault.
