A Real Poem Can Rhyme Too
If rhyme is not the completion
of a thought without a reason
it does complete the metric line
in these wondering thoughts of mine.
I am filled with wonder and awe
at the depth of natural law
but a simple rhymester like me
can see rhymes in real poetry.
These couplets float all around
and end with a similar sound.
I don’t find them, but i am found
like Elliot and Ezra Pound.
The distance between them was far
like all rhymesters and poets are.
