The Food Chain
Sparrows reflect the eye of god
saying “Here am i–send me”
makes the bumble bees seem as odd
as honey in a hollow tree.
Examining natural laws
explains that they are here because
he also has his eye on me
and all of us have dignity.
We may not have a starring role
in this play of life; but our soul
can play our part as if we care
altho we are not debonair.
“Good bye. I may eat you later”
says the hungry alligator.
