Another Koan
I am responsible to, instead of for
human miseries we seem to ignore.
Injustice indifferent gods allow
becomes my responsibility now.
The pains and sorrows all of us endure
the gods have told us are now ours to cure.
You wanted to know what your purpose was,
now you know what responsibility does.
Brotherly love provides ability
to take on this responsibility.
After we reach a cosmic consciousness
we no longer seek our own happiness,
but like Buddha, we become aware
we have responsibility to care.
