Perhaps Near A Distant Star
Does it matter what place you are
while you are viewing a distant star?
You wonder about planets there
with creatures who may be aware.
Of this planet on which we sit
we think we have learned quite a bit.
But, there is so much we don’t know;
like, “Where do we go, when we go?”
While some of us may realize
only the body really dies.
The part of us which dreams of stars
eternally looks beyond Mars,
searching for cosmic consciousness.
Other creatures may do no less.
