Their Heart Wasn’t in it
There is boredom and much danger
in having sex with a stranger.
That is what i used to believe
about drunk sailors on shore leave.
More disgusted than amused
by sexuality abused;
it was as a prude i was known
and i went on shore leave alone.
On sea watches, sometimes, at night
a mate might concede i was right
and planned to go ashore with me,
but this was only while at sea.
When it was time to go ashore
they would go looking for a whore.
