Stars Are Suns Elsewhere
And now it is Sunday again,
a day of rest after creation.
The sun which shines across the grain
has a moment of consternation.
Surprised to see our earth still here;
but why should it smile in surprise?
There are some other planets near
and perhaps they also have eyes.
What they have seen and what we saw
resulted from natural law.
The sun shines for the same reason
earth’s mountains often try trees on.
If they keep growing, that is good.
That is where people get their wood.
