A Stalking Feline?
Today i heard a catbird cry
from a bush i was walking by.
He had something to cry about;
impending tragedy no doubt.
     We tend to think they are singing
     and something good is happening.
     They could be crying in distress
     and not expressing happiness.
Is it our mood, or is it theirs
which keeps them singing–and who cares?
I care, and I'd like to know why
and does the word singing apply?
     Catbird why can’t you talk to me?
     I might prevent some tragedy.
