Now Is Eternal
I had rather be here and now
trying to understand the tao
than living in a promised land
which i can never understand.
     I somehow have a need to know
     where my soul is going to go
     but i do not worry about
     where i will be when i find out.
I feel sure my body will die
but i am not sure when or why.
I think rewards and punishments
so not reflect our gods’ intents.
     Someone is watching over me
     and my now is eternity.
