I Remember Turnip Greens
Happiness is a game we play
but we do not know what it means.
I discovered this one fine day
while i was eating turnip greens.
Some memories i had forgot
from when i lived in the south.
Whether i had liked them or not
was familiar in my mouth.
I remember a lot of friends
who came in different flavors.
The taste of friendship never ends;
be they once in-laws or neighbors.
I have become the kind of man
who finds joy wherever i can.
