That Is the Question
Are there ethical complexities
in any emotional response?
Are there spiritual necessities
which the mind recognizes at once?
Does everyone act or react
from a preconditioned attitude?
Perhaps our response is inexact
because our past habits will intrude.
Responses to any circumstance
can be controlled by self-discipline.
Our emotions do not stand a chance
against strict morality within.
But, should our emotions be controlled;
and warm hearts allowed to become cold?
