Our Cosmic Consciousness
Otherwise rational people may think
“nothing is going to save us from death”
but our life itself is a miracle.
Our bodies aren’t casually derived
or evolved dust from an exploded star.
The cosmos didn’t come about by chance.
It continues to work in synergy.
What more evidence can anyone want
that our existence is a miracle?
We are not only physical beings
but are parts of something greater than selves.
Each and all have purposes we can find.
Perhaps the search for ourselves and our gods
is purpose enough for eternity.
