No One Criticizes
Writing poems keeps me awake
despite inclinations to doze.
What kind of poems do i make?
I am a rhymester i suppose.
I never try to be obscure
but it sometimes turns out that way.
I am a country boy for sure
which you can tell from what i say.
If it seems like i am a fool
It’s because of how i started.
I was talking to my old mule.
How did he answer? He farted.
My readers are more civilized
than the way my mule criticized.
