It is sad to be alive but brain dead.
would you rather be a spirit instead?
well, yes, if i may have the final choice.
a spirit may have an eternal voice.
eternity might be a welcome thing
if we have a lot of poems to sing.
the incisive vision of the female
perpetrating the race on purpose
or the consciousness of the virile male
taking advantage of necessity.
are childhood memories the truth
or were they distorted by youth?
were the memories of a child
at best erroneously filed?
will false memories of the past
reveal the truth to me at last
or are they so surely entrenched
that i will always be convinced?
i’ve always thought an open mind
is the best we can hope to find
but now i have a nagging doubt
that truth is what life is about.
i keep wondering if i should
keep prejudices which are good.
perhaps we should be reminded
truth is wherever you find it.
