A Cartesian Solution
Somewhere along the abscissa of time
there resides a moment which is now.
That moment is all there really is.
The past is only a memory
and a vague future may never be.
So seize the moment–suck it in–
the future is about to begin.
But, there is no beginning or end;
right now becomes the most perfect blend.
The consciousness, like a purple cow,
makes our lives have purpose somehow.
If you take a deep breath and hold it
your body will do what you told it;
halt on this abscissa of time.
It doesn’t make sense but it does rhyme.
