Something to Think About
I do not constantly think about
the eminence of death, which i doubt.
Always the threat of non-existence
looms only in far away distance.
For all of us the mind relaxes;
no longer sure of death and taxes.
Caught up in quotidian events
the end of life doesn’t make much sense.
What matters is how we face today,
not something doubtful and far away.
Upbeat attitudes may dominate
in determining our daily fate.
Only the body will end in death
and much too soon, if we hold our breath.
