The Rationality of Morals
(and the genesis of road rage)
A moral is like a center stripe
in the middle of a two-way road.
The stripe allows drivers to use
the road in harmony and safety.
The stripe in all human relations
and in every religion
is what we call brotherly love.
We can have morality without
any particular religious sect.
If this moral stripe is erased
chaos results in human affairs.
This condition is what breeds wars.
If someone raises a finger
in traffic; he may be pointing out
that you have crossed the center stripe.
So, don’t run over the painter
who is painting this stripe for you.
