Looking Back to See Ahead
Sometimes when we wonder
what the future holds for us all,
we have tended to suspect there
was more wisdom in the past.
We think that our quotidian
lives in an urban economy
have erased our ability
to communicate with earth
or our cosmic consciousness.
I believe the information age
opens possibilities to imagine a
future more gracious than ever.
We see ourselves as a part
of something far greater
than our individual selves.
This puts us on the verge
of a mutation which will
quicken the pace of evolution.
I think my body is too old to wait
for this transcendental awakening.
But, tho my body will die too soon
to realize this transformation,
i will still be a significant part
of a superior cosmic consciousness.
