If It Sounds Right It Is
Perhaps i have some little knack
which much better poets may lack
for matching a similar sound
where different meanings are found.
Call it rhyme or call it meter
i am acquainted with neither.
I don’t claim to be very bright
but i know when “it feels just right.”
Meredith had his purple cow
which feels exactly right somehow.
If some of my poems make you smile
they seem to feel right once in a while.
It may not be poetry when
you don’t laugh out loud, but grin.
