Happy Birthday Jesus
This is a celebration of
your messages of peace and love.
And remembering that you said
all hungry children should be fed.
You also said ”Love each other.”
Everyone should be a lover.
Don’t look under the Christmas tree
without loving your enemy.
What we should look for under there
is a peace which all of us share;
not for exchanging gaudy trash
greedy merchants have sold for cash.
There should be a different day
for celebrating children at play
but not for giving girls and boys
grim reminders of war, for toys.
While there is still a hungry child
the meaning of love is defiled.
Until we are all conscious of
the real meaning of brotherly love.
Do not engage in gluttony
while many people are hungry.

after we learn what you came for.
