The Gremlin in Me
Hiding in a nebulous cloud of self
i occasionally see a small elf;
a creature with a shy simplicity
who is laughing @ the world and @ me.
I think i am made of much sterner stuff
and probably not laughing enough.
This gnome is often lecturing me
how much more relaxed i ought to be.
The small suggestions i make to you
may come from this jolly fairy too.
My didactic lectures may emerge
from some sardonic demiurge.
You should take them with a grain of salt
and remember, they’re not all my fault.
