The Will of the Gods
Is there any meaning to be found
in so-called hallowed or sacred ground?
I don’t find anything spiritual
in any meaningless ritual.
Perhaps there is just a smidgen
in an organized religion.
We may come together because
we all believe in Santa Klaus.
That is, we all want to believe
things which our minds cannot conceive.
Aside from rationality
where is there a meaning for me?
I have to depend on senses,
conversation which convinces,
or mainly in meditation,
which puts such things in relation.
The Tao has a certain rhythm
which makes me go along with’em;
these valid convictions of mine,
with their intelligent design.
I have to believe a meaning
has a purpose intervening
and that is the will of the gods
with who(m?) i am seldom at odds.
