Gimmie a Shovel
I don’t believe my life will end.
There’s a new life around the bend.
When i have reached that rusty gate
i know my body cannot wait.
But, that is a small part of me
where whatever will be will be.
Maybe i am transcendental
where death is not fundamental.
I don’t believe heaven or hell
has served anyone very well
and i will bury this fable
in the bullshit in the stable.
This old body is eighty-nine
but nothing else is in decline.
