Cause and Effect
Honest labor and good intents
makes a lot of dollars and sense.
To have more than we can afford
is where common sense is ignored.
      Is interest or usury
      the main reason for misery?
      Buddha thought it was desire
      that caused contentment to expire.
Is it wanting things or status
which aims poisoned arrows at us?
Shouldn’t all of us realize
pain results from being unwise?
      Just because all of us want peace
      doesn’t cause the wars to cease.
