You Don’t Want To Know
what i wrote years ago.
I don’t rewrite poems,
i’d rather write another.
If it wasn’t right the first time
because of some imperfect rhyme
who knows what i might uncover?
But, that doesn’t mean i don’t edit.
B4 i make the final first print
i try to discover what i meant
and check the spelling B4 it’s sent.
I check for syntax and that stuff
but perhaps i don’t check enough.
Nothing is perfect anyway
so i don’t work on it all day.
