Mama Was A Poet
In a graveyard i was wary,
is such darkness, necessary?
Because something is grave and dark
within a cemetery park.
Joviality is out of place
in this hallowed and sacred space.
I read the epigrams sometimes
which are often engraved in rhymes,
“Please don’t step on the lovely grass
or mama’s ghost will kick your ass.”
Whether it’s humorous or not
i saw that gravestone on one plot.
Tho it may not seem reverent
mama had a poetic bent.
