Alive in Self-Consciousness
It is not unusual to wonder
about the lightning and thunder
but if we wonder “Who am i?
why was i born” and “Will i die?”
We wonder and wander alone
for the answers may seem unknown.
Religion or philosophy
may demand an epiphany,
when, like lightning, they may become
just a matter of faith to some.
But then i began to doubt
the fairy tales of the devout.
I have given a lot of thought
to these fables which i was taught.
The strings on which parables hang
are now including the BIG BANG!
I have found it’s no mystery;
the world is just a part of me
and i’m part of the universe
with no beginning or reverse.
This temporal body may die
but we’re immortal – you and i.
We live in our self-consciousness
having no fear or loneliness.
