There Oughta B A Law
As i searched the evening sky
a soaring eagle caught my eye.
Silhouetted against the moon
he was whistling a lively tune.
I didn’t know eagles did that
and this eagle seemed to be flat.
He may have been sharper than me
which offended my dignity.
All the stories which i have heard
never mentioned a whistling bird.
I looked in a bird book–it said:
“Ospreys whistle before they’re fed.”
This must have been a wild eagle.
Feeding them may be illegal.
