Our Children Pay For Our Wars
I have an abiding contempt for
those who worship at the throne of war.
I see how its promoters paint
war as honorable–which it ain’t.
Propaganda is an evil art
when it tries to rip people apart
and generate a legend of hate,
which is too ugly to contemplate.
It is humankind’s greatest curse
which serves to fill the warmonger’s purse.
Why are our young people sacrificed
while deadly weapons are overpriced.
Perhaps we are paying too much
for false patriotism and such.
