Not Just The Facts, Ma’am
Ineffable, soulful yearning
was the lesson he was learning;
to express these things in his mind
for the benefit of mankind.
Prolific in writing each day
rhymes saying what he wants to say.
Unable to express with grace
the trials of the human race.
Nevertheless he blunders on
with the greater part of his life gone;
and still unable to find out
what it is he’s talking about.
Perhaps what he lacks is syntax,
more grace instead of just the facts.
