Is Love a Cliche?
Every cliche in the book
is a chef and not just a cook.
It is the way something is said
makes it cake instead of cornbread.
Because it has been said B4
doesn’t mean that we should ignore
all phrases which may touch our heart;
using words this way is an art.
Poems include recognition
of a rhythmic repetition.
If it is only a cliche
it can touch your heart anyway.
Some people may be tired of
my poems–which are about love.

At this point in time means right now.
Can you copyright purple cow?
So what if i have never seen
a purple cow who becomes green?
Why can’t i be allowed to say
something about cows anyway?
It would seem like they have a brand
which is something i understand.
If only the owner has a right
to kill and eat that cow tonight,
the cow might not view with delight
even if she is black and white.
Poets should be able to feast
on purple cows with brands at least.
