I Heard the Back Crack
I thought i heard some bones break.
That must have been a mistake.
What the X-rays didn’t show
was that the pain didn’t go.
After a couple of years
it was broken it appears.
As more and more years advance
i have more pain than romance.
If the X-ray had worked right
i might be sleeping tonight.
Now i have a constant pain
and hope i don’t break it again.
At my age they call this chronic;
perhaps only histrionic.
