I Have Embellished What I Relished
I have to confess, my memory
is not as good as it used to be.
Not all i do remember is true
about the things which i used to do.
It’s probably hard for anyone
not to lie about what they have done.
Whether we were always bad or good,
we tried to do what we thought we should.
Most of our lives were quotidian,
perhaps only “fair to middilin.”
We remember the epiphanies
and the occasional ecstasies.
We are always filled with gratitude
for having an upbeat attitude.
